Large UK companies have to report how they pay their suppliers every six months. We've put the latest reports for 122 contractors and housebuilders on Construction Rating into one table: the payment league table, which you can sort and filter.

The middle average (median) is 31 days, and 57 of the 122 pay in 30 days or less on average. These are the reports filed in the last 18 months.

The 10 fastest payers

  1. Bennett Construction (London): 5 days on average, 96% paid within 30 days, 4% not paid to agreed terms (October 2025 to March 2026, report).
  2. Hercules PLC: 6 days on average, 96% paid within 30 days, 2% not paid to agreed terms (October 2025 to March 2026, report).
  3. M Group Highways: 15 days on average, 95% paid within 30 days, 11% not paid to agreed terms (October 2025 to March 2026, report).
  4. Heron Bros.: 15 days on average, 87% paid within 30 days, 4% not paid to agreed terms (March to August 2026, report).
  5. J Murphy & Sons Ltd: 17 days on average, 85% paid within 30 days, 4% not paid to agreed terms (January to June 2026, report).
  6. Morgan Lovell PLC: 17 days on average, 86% paid within 30 days, 8% not paid to agreed terms (January to June 2026, report).
  7. Lendlease Europe: 19 days on average, 96% paid within 30 days, 0% not paid to agreed terms (October 2025 to March 2026, report).
  8. BDL Group: 19 days on average, 49% paid within 30 days, 1% not paid to agreed terms (October 2025 to March 2026, report).
  9. Overbury PLC: 19 days on average, 81% paid within 30 days, 4% not paid to agreed terms (January to June 2026, report).
  10. Abbey Developments: 20 days on average, 90% paid within 30 days, 0% not paid to agreed terms (November 2025 to April 2026, report).

Every company's figures, including the slowest, are in the payment league table, which you can sort by average days, invoices paid within 30 days or the share paid late.

Reading the figures

Average days is across all invoices, so a contractor can have a good average and still pay some suppliers late; the share "not paid to agreed terms" shows that. Where a group reports through its main trading company, that company's report is used. Reports cover six-month periods, so check the period shown.

Every company page shows its full payment record in its CR Signals, including retention practices where reported.

Construction Rating lets subcontractors review the main contractors they work for. If you've worked for one, add your experience.
