Construction Companies in South Wales
Browse 11 construction companies in South Wales. Read reviews from subcontractors, suppliers, and trade professionals.
All Regions
The South Wales contractors we list are mostly regional firms, including Andrew Scott and Morganstone in Swansea, LCB Construction, BECT Building Contractors and Carter Lauren Construction in Cardiff, Hale Construction in Neath and Vaughan Construction in Llanelli.
How they pay
None of them files a government payment report. Reporting only applies to companies over two of £54m turnover, £27m on the balance sheet and 250 staff, so most regional firms don't have to. Check their CR Signals instead: whether accounts and confirmation statements are filed on time, any new charges from lenders, and any notices in the Gazette. Tell us how you're really paid in our payment survey.
Public work and project bank accounts
Since January 2018, construction contracts funded by the Welsh Government and worth £2m or more have had to use a project bank account unless there is a compelling reason not to, so subcontractors are paid from a ring-fenced account. In November 2025 the Welsh Government consulted on going further, with contract clauses for public projects over £2m that would also put retentions in ring-fenced accounts.
Frameworks
The main framework for schools and public buildings is SEWSCAP 4, the South East and Mid Wales Collaborative Construction Framework, hosted by Cardiff Council. It was awarded in October 2024, runs to October 2028 and is worth up to about £1.9bn.
