Our failures register is refreshed from Companies House at the start of every month. Here's what the October 2026 update found.

Failed in October 2026

  • Torsion Projects: administration, 16 October 2026. Housebuilder, Yorkshire and the Humber.
  • Gardner & Co. (Kent): administration, 5 October 2026. Main contractor, South East England.

Also added to the register this month

These failed earlier but were added to the register in October 2026:

That makes 24 failures in the register for 2026 so far. See them all by month, with the biggest and why they failed.

The register covers larger firms (those filing full, group or medium-sized accounts) and well-known failures we have checked, not every insolvency. Companies that failed some years ago and have since been dissolved are under-represented, so it isn't a complete count. The Insolvency Service publishes the official monthly totals for all construction insolvencies.

Before you take on work for a main contractor, check its CR Signals and where it sits in the payment league table.

Construction Rating lets subcontractors review the main contractors they work for. If you've worked for one, add your experience.
